natural vs other

ok so i have been thinking...what does changing how we look really say about us?
i have beautiful long black natural hair and yet i will admit i love to wear Brazilian and well like every one else horse hair as well.lol
I was recently at a friends wedding. Being bridesmaid and all, we were required to doll ourselves up. Boy was i excited as i pulled out my Brazilian. had my hair done and i must confess i was all courageous and really high shoulders knowing i was looking fly. then as i looked myself in the mirror, it occurred to me, Ally look at how well you carry yourself with another person's hair,  its not just me but i have seen a number of ladies actually feel themselves more, even their confidence rise as they wear other people's/ animal's hair. is that we are not proud of our natural looks, such that we try to change ourselves or is it that society demands that as women we should change ourselves to please others.?
one thing for sure is that we love praise, we want to turn heads and have the attention on us, but we really tend to forget who we are, that we are created like that for a purpose, i mean with Great maintenance, of our own looks we would have the courage to step out and have our shoulders high.
i know African hair is a little expensive to maintain, but take it from me, moisture is all that our hair needs and we would rock it all the time. i want to see ladies, even Gents be proud of who they really are, embrace it and shine...because all of us were meant to shine in our own way not the way of another person. we are not our hair, or our clothes but the personality that we portray.
trying to look like another person is living that person's life, now if we all living other people's lives what time shall we have to live our own, the 21st century needs innovators, creator and people who know who they really are and what they want to be, then we shall see more development in our countries. its starts from as little as admitting, i have thick long black hair and am proud.
so whoever you are, rock that person and add to the change and purpose you were created for.
Be-You-Tiful
